Race Date

What is the date of the 2010 Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon?

The date of the 2010 race is Saturday, April 24. The YMCA Country Music Kids’ Marathon will be held Friday, April 23.

What are future race dates for the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon?

The date of the 2011 race is Saturday April 30, 2011. The date of the 2012 race is Saturday April 28, 2012.

Awards

Is there prize money for local runners?

Prize money is available for Davidson County runners. The top two finishers, both male and female will receive awards. The awards are as follows:

  • 1st place (Male & Female) $1,000
  • 2nd place (Male & Female) $500
  • Men’s and women’s master winners in the marathon will each collect $500 in prize money

How do I know that I’m in?

All participants will be emailed Final Instructions and a link to download their Confirmation Sheet within 2 weeks prior to the event.

Course Info

Is this a certified course (i.e. Boston)?

Yes, the Country Music Marathon is a certified course and a “qualifier” for the Boston Marathon.

What is the course elevation?

The elevation chart for the course is located with the course maps.

Can I walk the course?

Walkers are welcome, provided that they can complete the Marathon course in 7 hours and 1/2 Marathon course in 4 hours.

Are there relay teams allowed?

There is no marathon relay at the Country Music Marathon.

Do the two courses start and finish in the same place?

The Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon will start together at Centennial Park and both finish at LP Field. Please note that the marathon and 1/2 Marathon have a different finish line.

How do I switch races?

All race changes must be made by March 4, 2010. If you wish to switch from the marathon to the half, simply email your request to cmmnashville@competitorgroup.com including your name and your new half marathon predicted finishing time. If you would like to upgrade to the marathon, simply send you email request and a registration coordinator will reply with the details. The upgrade fee is $20.

If the race is closer than 7 weeks away we will not be able to make any more changes in our database, but you may run the half marathon with a marathon bib, or you can upgrade from the half to the marathon at the expo. The upgrade fee there will be $35.

All race changes are final.

What will I receive with my entry?

All PARTICIPANTS in the Country Music Marathon & ½ Marathon will receive:

  • Country Music Marathon or Country Music 1/2 Marathon T-shirt
  • Admission into the post-race concert (your race number is your ticket)

All finishers in the Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon will receive:

  • Country Music Marathon or Country Music 1/2 Marathon Finisher Medal
  • Finisher’s Certificate

Shuttle Services

What services will be provided?

Yes, the Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon will be providing shuttle services for PARTICIPANTS ONLY. Please check our Shuttle Information Page for detailed information.

Merchandise

When will merchandise be sent?

Please allow four to six weeks for the delivery of all merchandise. All additional concert tickets must be picked up at the Concert Ticket Will-Call Booth located at the Health & Fitness Expo. Concert tickets will not be mailed. Pick up ordered artist posters at the Expo.

Weather

What is Nashville’s average temperature at the end of April?

The average temperature in Nashville at the end of April over the last 4 years has been around 60 degrees.

What is the expected temperature at 7:00a.m. (start) and 12noon (finish)?

We expect the temperature to be in the lower 50s at the start of the race and in the upper 50’s by the finish. April and May often have morning fog with clearing later in the day.

How do I qualify for a Heavy Medal?

Participation in the 2010 Country Music Marathon or ½ Marathon is the first step in qualifying for a “Heavy Medal.” Become a Heavy Medal Groupie by completing two or more of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon series of events in 2010. There are plenty of combinations to make you a winner. Click here for complete information.

Note: If you complete other Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon(s) in 2010, you do not need to file an official application to receive your Heavy Medal. Medals will automatically be mailed to you 6-8 weeks after completing the final race needed for the medal.

How do I order a Finisher’s T, race photos and souvenirs after the race?

What if I lost a personal item at the Health & Fitness Expo or at the Start or Finish Line?

Lost items that were found and turned in will been returned to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series office after the event. Please allow 1-2 weeks for transit time and inventory. Call us at (858) 450-6510 or email us at cmmnashville@competitorgroup.com to request your lost item.

I’ve moved. How do I change my mailing address?

Please log into your account to make the necessary changes. Once you have logged in, click on “Update Account” under the “My Account” tab. If you do not know your login ID and password, click on “Forgot/Did not receive your Login ID or Password?” and enter the email address used when you registered and your login ID and password will be sent to you.

I was unable to participate in the 2010 event. May I get a shirt?

Yes.  Request must be made within 1 month of the event.  Therefore, any t-shirt requests must be made by May, 24 2010.  Please fill out a Cancellation/T-Shirt Request form and we will mail you a Participant shirt. Shirts will be sent to you via U.S. mail within 6-8 weeks.

I did not receive a finisher’s medal. Can I still get one?

We will be happy to mail you a finisher’s medal.   Requests must be made within 1 month of the event.  Therefore, any medal requests must be received by May 24, 2010.  Please email your name, address and race participated in to cmmnashville@competitorgroup.com. Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery.

What if my results are incorrect?

Please submit a results correction request and we will look into your claim. Corrections will be updated on a weekly basis.

I cannot see myself on the Race Day Live video archive.

Unfortunately, due to foot traffic the feed to the 2009 live webcam was interrupted during taping. Our apologies for this occurrence during your finish. We are making every effort to ensure this does not occur next year.

When will I receive my Age Group / Division Award?
Awards will be mailed out 4 – 6 weeks after the event. If your address has changed, please email your first and last name, new address including street, city, state, zip and phone number to cmmnashville@competitorgroup.com. In the subject line, type Address Correction. Or, call Competitor Group at (858) 450-6510.
What if I have not received my Finisher’s Certificate?

You can now download your FREE finisher’s certificate! Your photos, videos, and FREE finisher’s certificate will be available online within 24 – 48 hours after the race at www.asiphoto.com
